Darcia is a British writer/ director who began her career making documentaries for the BBC before moving into scripted content. She directed series finales of the multi award-winning Call the Midwife and Judge John Deed (2 hour special) along with many of the UK’s favourite shows. She also co-produced the multi award-winning documentary feature All the Wild Horses, released in cinemas in 2018.
Darcia has been praised for her strong cinematic vision and intuitive style. She is always intent on getting honest performances from actors while working effectively with crew to capture that truth.
She has recently directed three episodes for the flagship ITVx and Amazon Prime series Riches, and is currently working with Lenny Henry on his new ITV show Three Little Birds. Her short film First was optioned in the U.S. by Good Deed Entertainment. She was selected to join BFI NETWORK x BAFTA Crew 2021, and has previously been mentored by the director Harry Bradbeer as part of the Directors UK Inspire program.
